After taking the final, I found this article about Jason Richwine, another employee of the Heritage Foundation. He went on record to say that immigrants have "lower IQs than white natives." Upon just reading the headline, I couldn't believe that someone would say that, especially when they are in the public eye and have scientific proof that is shoddy and biased at best.
No one knows whether Hispanics will ever reach IQ parity with whites, but the prediction that new Hispanic immigrants will have low-IQ children and grandchildren is difficult to argue against. From the perspective of Americans alive today, the low average IQ of Hispanics is effectively permanent.
-Jason Richwine
The only truly worrying thing about Richwine's claims is that some people will believe them. Someone will look at this study, believe it, and think that Hispanic immigration should be curbed. This stupid and racist argument could have repercussions for the entire Hispanic community, just because of the ignorance of one man with a sizable platform.
